In Italy Burrell developed a profound appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. It has had a profound impact on the way that Burrell prepares her food. Burrell was the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to improve the quality of life for children facing challenges. Burrell also serves as an Juvenile Disease Research Foundation's celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about the dangers of childhood diabetes. She frequently travels around the nation in her capacity as both a mentor and an invited speaker, where she talks about her work and passion for cooking. Anne always felt fortunate that she could share the passion of her life, and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
